Uncommon Fruits Walks
18.10.2025 Topolò/Topolove → Tribil/Tarbij
25.10.2025 Gnidovizza/Gniduca → Salamant/Salamanti
08.11.2025 Korada → Kojsko
All the actions, gestures and activations organised within the Uncommon Fruits project were sustained by one main methodological framework: that to explore fruits’ flavours, smells and stories one would need to encounter and explore the landscape where these were generated from. From the first collective action, Joining the Land, to the research work by Philipp and Suzanne, to Uncommon Woods and other workshops, we always tried to ground the research on fruits transforming it into a research on the forest, on abandonments, on climate, on language and histories.
We are happy to invite you to join us on three fruit-centered informal walks that will cross the landscapes between Topolò/Topolove on one end and Kojsko on the other.
These walks are intended as occasions to spend slow time together, exploring and sensing the landscape, its other-than-human inhabitants, and its fruits — not as guided tours or touristic activities. They will be informal, spontaneous, and joyful moments of embodied collective research. We value every contribution you may bring: exercises to do along the way (for the body, the senses, or the mind), moments of reading and listening, and shared knowledge about foraging, biology, wildlife, etc.

A guide to help us lose our balance a little
Notes on the first walk: Topolò/Topolove → Tribil Superiore/Gorenji Tarbij (18/10/2025)
Dora Ciccone
A little raisin bread and lots of new faces in our Izba. I have prepared a game, an exercise to awaken the hands of walkers ready to move their feet: a little guide to accompany us on this day, to lift our gaze from the path, to help us lose our balance a little.
The warm sun reaches us in the morning and accompanies us along the paths that cross the terraces below the village. We reach Seuza step by step, familiarizing ourselves with the rhythm of others. In Clodig we stop for a sandwich and put our colors on the table. We blend, we orient ourselves, we gaze at a landscape of which we act as guardians.
We’re halfway there, but up until now it's all been downhill.
Satisfied and smiling, we begin the climb toward Dughe, enveloped in the foliage of the chestnut trees. The colors deepen in the leaves we tread on, and our hands ache as we encounter the chestnut burrs. We familiarise ourselves with the forest, collecting and preserving traces of this journey, along which we become a chorus of voices echoing in the silent forest.
At the end of the trail, blinded by the sun, we awaken from this long day, and each of us takes home a bit of beauty, warmth, and a few chestnuts.
